In Italy you can find normal eggs that you have to cook or boil depends on what you need, in Japan you can find already boliled eggs, normal eggs and ... black eggs.
See the fotos ? don't think this one is a chokolate egg, not at all, even if it is brown what you see is the normal egg shell and the reason because is brown is because is smoked. Also inside, if you breack this egg the normal white part is brown and a has a tipical smoked smell !

Another curious thing is that if in italy you find 10/12 or 6 egg boxes, in Japan you can find 1/2/6 or more egg boxes. If you for instance have to create a bento just for yourself, you can easily buy just one boiled egg normal or smoked and add one item box of what ever you need, pasta, salad, dessert and much more in a one person portion ^___^
